This is a blog for less well known bands to spread the word about new music. Hopefully it'll be relatively successful; I'm hoping I can post new bands that I find, and if anybody else wants to send me an ask to promote a band they like, know or are in, then I can post those too, with a link to who submitted it.
peacockaffect asked: Check out my songs.
Sure thing! Sorry if it’s taken me a while to reply, I’m just back from a vacation.
Here’s another acoustic musician, this one from New Malden. For fans of artists such as Joshua Radin, Fionn Reagan etc. I highly recommend giving this a listen. He’s released two independent EPs (his most recent called ‘Tornados’), and has played festivals including The Great Escape, Latitude and Secret Garden Party. Perfect music for these chilly winter times approaching. Here’s his facebook and soundcloud.
Here’s a five-piece acoustic band who are not only family (well, four of them), but best friends as well. They’re music’s more pop than most things that get posted on here, but that doesn’t mean it’s a band thing. Many artists I’ve posted have ended up being played on major radio stations; including Foxes, London Grammar, The Lumineers, Chvrches etc. So check out this band from Leeds on facebook, and see if you like them.
Indians is the music project of a man named Søren Løkke Juul from Copenhagen. The music’s hard to categorise, not being similar to many other artists; which isn’t surprising considering Juul started this project merely to do something different and creative. It’s almost a psych experimental pop vibe, so check it out on facebook and soundcloud to hear someone genuinely doing something different.
Here are Blisseyes, a four-piece british band making post-punk/indie rock music; reminiscent of a more packed out, livelier Joy Division, particularly on Cook’s vocals. Here’s their facebook and soundcloud for more.
Loom are a five-piece grunge rock band from Leamington Spa. Although they’re much more classic rock’n’roll, they’ll always be drawing comparisons to The Horrors, with frontman Tarik Badwan being brother to Faris. They’re supposed to be a great live band, full of energy and raw aggression, so check out their facebook and go see them live soon.
Kappa Gamma (sortened to ΚΓ ) are a five-piece from the East Midlands. They’re shoegaze noisemakers, drenched in reverb for the new indie sound. Here’s their facebook and soundcloud if you like what you hear.
Cate Le Bon is a Welsh psych-folk singer, who recently relocated to LA to persue her music career. She was in last week’s NME, and her third album is now available to stream in it’s entireity exclusively from NME. The album will be out on November 11th, so for now, here’s her facebook to keep up to date.
This Oxford-based five-piece are creating beautifully dark and ecclectic music. You’ll have to listen to more on facebook and soundcloud to hear the full, diverse range of the band who have been likened to The Smiths, The XX, Foals, Suede and many more.
Here’s a London-based singer/songwriter originally from Liverpool. The genre is a mash-up of many influences, with definitive pop parts, to others clearly influenced by rock, all covered in a beautiful and powerful soulful voice. Here’s the facebook page, enjoy.
Here’s a four-piece band from South London playing toned down alternative indie rock. This song’s taken from the band’s debut album ‘Smile That Won’t Go Down’ which is out now. Here’s their facebook, and if you like there’s a free download up for grabs on their bandcamp.
Sydney are churning out more great music with this five-piece psychedelic indie pop band. They’ve recently released a new single called ‘Black Cat’ which is available on iTunes now. For everything else, here’s their facebook and soundcloud.
Lodro are a ‘neo noir punk’/alternative indie rock band from Brooklyn, NY. They’re a three piece who create dark soundscapes within their songs, giving a deep, desolate sound. Their debut 7” came out on 22nd October, so check them out on facebook and soundcloud now. For fans of bands like The Kills.
